We believe in buying less, but better.
In knowing where things come from.
And in feeling connected to what we wear.
Who we are
We are three friends united by a shared passion for nature, craftsmanship and South Africa. Inspired by Cape Town’s breathtaking landscapes, vibrant creative energy and active lifestyle, we founded nia + fyn as a platform to celebrate and bring the beauty of South African design to Switzerland.
Our name reflects our story: nia, inspired by the founders’ names, stands for purpose and intention, while fyn pays tribute to the fynbos – the resilient and extraordinary flora that shapes Cape Town’s unique natural heritage.
Founded in 2026, nia + fyn embodies a way of living and dressing that balances refined elegance with effortless ease – capturing the spirit of Cape Town and translating it into everyday life in Switzerland.
Our name carries a story.
nia is drawn from the names of the founders, symbolising purpose and intention.
fyn is inspired by fynbos — resilient, wild and uniquely Cape Town.
Together, they reflect everything we believe in: intention, beauty and strength in simplicity.
Nina
Born and raised in the Swiss mountains, Nina found a second home in Cape Town, where she spent eight years working in the fashion industry and building meaningful creative connections. It was here that she met her friend in life and business, Nicole.
Now back in Switzerland, Nina works in marketing while dedicating her free time to bringing nia + fyn to life. Her passion lies in creating a bridge between two worlds — carrying the spirit, warmth, and design sensibility of Cape Town into everyday life in Switzerland.
Nicole
Cape Town born, living at the foot of the iconic Table Mountain. Nicole has always been surrounded by the landscapes and rhythms of the Mother City.
With over 20 years of experience as a Fashion Designer and Garment Technologist, in the corporate and boutique space, she brings a refined understanding of garment construction, fit, and detail to her passion project, nia + fyn. Creativity is at the heart of everything she does — whether through bespoke fashion, time spent in nature, or special moments with friends.
Bettina
Born and raised in Switzerland, Bettina lives in the heart of the country near Lucerne. With over seven years of experience in marketing, she is passionate about crafting meaningful product stories.
Guided by a strong sense of aesthetics, she draws inspiration from fashion, food, and interior design. Creativity is central to her work – transforming ideas into stories and contributing creatively to nia + fyn in her free time – and continues into her personal life through the ongoing exploration of new creative pursuits.
Our values & vision
nia + fyn brings South African design into Swiss everyday life – grounded in quality, craftsmanship and purpose. We collaborate with South African designers, with a strong focus on empowering women and fostering a spirit of women supporting women.
Each piece in our collection reflects a story of origin, creativity and conscious creation. As part of our commitment, 5% of our proceeds go to initiatives that empower women and communities in South Africa.
Our vision is to build a brand that inspires and connects – creating lasting impact through thoughtful design, intentional living and a clear sense of purpose.
Giving back
At nia + fyn, we believe in giving back through purpose-driven partnerships, proudly supporting carefully chosen charities that uplift communities, empower women, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Sparrow Society
A women's empowerment brand based in Cape Town, South Africa dedicated to impacting communities through targeted Gender-Based Violence intervention & education, and skills development programs. Moving away from the traditional relief and aid model and into a sustainable and holistic economic empowerment model, their focus is on creating dignifying and viable economic opportunities predominantly for women and youth.
Thandeka
Since 2003, Thandeka has been dedicated to empowering the manufacturing and retail sectors through accredited learnerships and thoughtfully crafted skills programmes.
The name “Thandeka” comes from Zulu and Ndebele, two of South Africa’s vibrant languages, and means “To Be Loved” or “The Loved One.” This profound meaning reflects their mission to provide a nurturing, safe environment where our learners can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
